Welcome to Johnnie’s Beef and Pizza! For over 35 years, the Lekkakos Family has served the Rockport-Gloucester community with their award winning pizza. Johanna Lekkakos, owner and manager, is excited to bring this new establishment to Danvers, MA, with her two children- Andrew and Arianna Makrakis, who are students of the Danvers community. Johnnie’s is located on 67 High Street (Village Plaza), formerly Danvers House of Pizza.

Among the traditional favorite foods including Roast Beef, Pizza, Salads and Subs. Johnnie’s will be featuring an exclusive gluten free menu. The ingredients are inspired by their family’s history of Celiac which is a health condition that requires a gluten free diet. Gluten free is also becoming a healthy lifestyle for many families. Johnnie’s will be one of the first in the North Shore area to bring the concept to take out. 

Johanna Lekkakos, owner and manager said, “Though there are many establishments that are starting to serve a variety of gluten free options, it’s been mainly for sit down dining. Through my own personal family experience; there is a need for families to have gluten free food available for easy take-out. I’m happy to say, Johnnie’s gluten free items will have separate cooking areas. This means all of our gluten free items are exclusively prepared and grilled in areas away from our traditional menu items. That is a huge differentiator from other take out restaurants today. Johnnie’s gluten free items are carefully prepared and cooked to avoid cross contamination. We are excited to bring both regular and gluten free options to Danvers.”

The naming of Johnnie’s Beef and Pizza is also special to the Lekkakos Family. Johnnie’s is dedicated to Johanna Lekkakos’ son’s, John and Stevie, who passed away back in 2006 and 2010 from health complications. The family has raised money tirelessly for several causes in the boys’ names- Johnnie’s Beef and Pizza will be a new vessel to grow the Makrakis Smiling Angels Foundation, in dedication to John and Stevie.
